YS checkvalve

You can use a "T" between the check valve and the tank using a fuel dot as you would with a pressurized setup.

Ok...I'll plead ignorance. I'm running a DZ with a vent line and apparantly leaking fuel on downlines in a BIG way. How do you have the check valve setup on the vent line??? Are you removing it to fill the tank?
Confused...

True enough Dean. Except a vent placed in a cumbersome location makes it hard to attach your overflow tubing onto, when filling the tank. Vent fitting in close proximity to the fill fitting makes that much easier. I just don't care to overflow fuel all over the ground. It's a matter of convenience and/or preference

Hi Nat,
I used the YS check valve with both my O.S. 140 RX and Mintor, and never had a dribble issue. At the table I tend to dribble, but that's another issue! One thing that works well for many is to run the tank vent to a place well behind the tank. If the end of the vent line is both behind and below the tank when upright, then there will be no siphoning problem in flight, or on the ground.
Regards,
Dean

The YS checkvalve will readily open with almost zero differential pressure. Going the other way it takes about two psi to get a seal. At a lower pressure there will be some dribble. Is there a better solution for the tank vent line? Nat Penton
