One new element is the arrival of popular small high-performance electric
pattern planes as well as the 40-sized ARFs. I follow the message boards for
the Formosa and similar micro pattern planes and the amount of nterest in
flying pattern is amazing. These are usually younger flyers that are
catching the bug. Neat new trend.

We should focus on the younger groups joining into pattern. We do need to
focus on that factor.
However I have noticed many more 14 and 16 year olds in pattern in the
last few years. I think pattern is on an improved track with so many
training
seminars held at AMA clubs and the pattern membership with several JR pilots
on board.
The discipline of pattern in general is something that will only improve any
pilot in this hobby.
Pattern has made much progress and Eric I do believe your term in office has
helped the sport in many ways.Changes that will help pattern move forward.
I am not sure about the Artistic Aerobatics ? but as we review the topic
a
little more we will find the answers to the growth of precision aerobatics
