Speaking of lessons learned (was are you looking for somethin g)

Don't let him fool ya Del. I have the EXACT same feature with mechanical trims...except that I don't have to count. Just recenter the tab and you're done ;)

Oh...and regarding trim resolution...that's also NOT a function limited to digital trims...Radio's have had adjustable trim resolution for years...long before digital trims.

Now...I have to say after all that...I like digital trims. I just haven't heard a sound argument yet.

My own personal preference is the ease of which I can get ONE click with a digital trim. Pushing the button is easier, faster, and more reliable than trying to move the slider...I tend to slip and move the sliders 2-3 clicks...then I'm trying to move it back and overshoot again...etc.

I still prefer mechanical on throttle though...

Del
I love the digital trims on my Futaba. I use the trims while flying to find
the optimum position.....then.....after landing, I count how many beeps each
one is from neutral and then I use the Subtrim function. The Subtrim is a
separate function that trims the controls quantitatively.....It goes
from -100 to +100. I then put my trims to neutral and continue flying.
I never have to guess at where the trims are. I can record each of the
numeric values for future reference. Programming it into a different
transmitter is a "piece of cake" if necessary.
That's just my excuse for having digital trims.
