Eric:

I have a couple of YS 63 that are jewels of joy. I believe you have
evaluated more than one 63 size pattern-practice ARF's and so I was just
wondering which of the lot you might recommend considering all your
findings. Thanks!

The ARF is probably the best deal to get a plane in the air. You can add
lots of trim and decals to individualize your plane. I have weighed all the
parts of both the ARF and the ARC. This will be a much lighter Focus than
its predecessor. The wing panels are 11-12 oz, covered!

They have looked at the weaknesses of the original and done something about
it. The UC mounting plate is extensively modified, a lot like a Temptation -
no big surprise there. It comes with two sets of gear legs. One for your
field Marguerite, and one for hardtop, much smoother runways. The fin is
conventionally thicker and easier to install. The wings and stab are pretty
close to the established Temptation format.

The cowl is more aerodynamically streamlined and is pre-fitted to the
fuselage. The best part is that you can have access to the fuselage from
both above and below. The new Focus has removable canopy/deck that just
makes life so much simpler.

Regards,

Eric.

Hi Eric& "All"
Happy New Year and a Happy year of Flying.

Nice pictures of the Focus. I plan on also flying a Focus this year. I
am not sure If I want to cover it or buy it covered. There seems to be a
lot of excellent reports on this plane.
Looks like the ELAN I have been flying for 7 1/2 years will only be used
as a back up plane. I enjoyed the Elan it is a great plane but something
new would be nice.
Marguerite
