Tom,

Thank you for your reply. The design looks good to me. Everything is easily accessible and it has a good look. Now all we need is a few flying reports. Please keep me posted about yours.

Clay

  Clay,

I have one, but as yet still not built. I don't really know what I can tell you about it.... I guess the best piece of advice I can give you is to go through an importer ( like Central etc) unless you are quite confident that the whole importing process will not faze you. I had considerable difficulty importing the models to Australia.

Now assuming you actually get/got one...... the plane looks like it will be a good performer. Speaking as a guy who designed all his own for many years, the Lazulite is not a ground breaking design but rather an evolution ( which model isn't?) and seems to utilize some design philosophies to which Wolfgang and Roland Matt subscribe. I think the Lazulite will be a solid performer, just like the Smaragd......and it has a much better belly pan idea!
Now that the US dollar is going south. I would imagine that the cost would increase. So if this is a factor, you need to balance up the gains you make in time saving of a kit vs scratch vs dollars. In my case I needed to save time...but I still need to justify the cost to the family on a weekly basis!!!

Kit wise, the glass work is exceptional. The sheeting work is good too, but what really lacks is good English in the instructions and with that perhaps more comprehensive instructions which include measurements...but I may work on that if PL allows me to ( I need to speak with them first).

If you like the look of the model, and you have some cash to burn...give it a try, I'm sure it will be a great plane.

I was just curious to know if anyone out there has any experience with the PL Lazulite? Any info, comments, or flying experiences would be most appreciated.
