Actually, If you follow the path of the plane carefully, you will see that
he was in a high speed stall. Not much wing area on them T-Birds and little
lift at low speeds.

  In case you missed this here are some different views of the accident.

  Did you see the vid of the one were a T-bird pilot pulled up to do a split
S, but misjudged the field elev.

  Ended up ejecting just before his plane smacked the runway.  There is both
external and in cockpit footage out on the net.
