Anyone here think a 1.08 2 stroke would be sufficient to make up the difference between a muffled vs. piped .91 2 stroke? I have an ASP 1.08 lying around I may try on it. I also have a Thunder Tiger 1.20 2-stroke if that won't work.

        Bruce,
Thanks, that's what I am concerned about. The OS 91 FX most likely will require a pipe to do the job and the Excelleron
is not set up for a pipe. I may have to resort to a larger 2 stroke engine. Bob Pastorello is using a Super Tiger 2300.
Not sure I wish to go that big !
        Thanks,
        Paul

I have a scratch built Typhoon 909 that weighs around 8 to 8.5 pounds. The "Littlephoon" has 909 square inches of wing, about a 70 inch wing span. I fly intermediate at 5500 feet MSL. The YS91 did not have enough to fly the Int pattern, because of the two maneuvers you mentioned. I put a YS 110 in the Littlephoon, and now I have plenty of power swinging a 15X8. I have no experience with the OS, but I would think the YS would be a little lacking.

        See ya,

        Bruce
