Ballots

My theory is that the automated mail system is having a fit reading the black on dark green paper. They are probably sitting around various post offices waiting to be hand sorted.
FWIW, I have been out of the computer mainstream for many years now so maybe the scanners are better now. I think the problem an honest mistake. I think all of the candidates worthy and competent. I think the criticism undue.
I hate to think that any of the existing officers or the candidates would risk their reputations interfering with an honest process...
I do think that the affected parties should be able to find common ground and put the bickering away. It is unhealthy for our common goals.

Derek, I share your and other Member's quandary on "bad" ballots.
With 12 days to go I think those that care enough about voting to want to have a way to do it, should have some recourse. With less than 700 out, I would think that the accountants would verify the NSRCA number(on the label) and check it off. If they got two of the same number--question, or whatever they have to do to resolve it. I assume the ballot counters have all these things in their playbook , so they can handle them.
Since they are in Florida they must have procedures for bad ballots such as: no staples, one staple, two staples, no tape, clear tape, masking tape, transparent tape, CA, Epoxy, blue ink, red ink, black ink, torn half's with only return addresses, no USPS cancellation date (don't laugh), and the number of other "bad" possibilities. :)
I guess the ability of a member to contact them about a ballot, or what to do, is at the purview of the current Officers.
I am not paranoid about "bad" ballots with our group of Members, and would trust a handwritten, validated input.
But that is up to our current Officers "getting the BIG salaries" for deciding that. :) :)
Tis the Season, you know.
Jerry
