Thanks for your timely reply Lamar. I agree and support soliciting input from the membership and letting them see the minutes etc. The more open door policies are followed the less suspicion of back room politics.
I do recall our leaders, and membership supported the decision, to go with a central location for the Nats.

Del, my response on moving the NATS around did not suggest any lack of problems, only the need to understand them and look at what it would take to do it, if the membership wants us to. Then we can address and assess it and get it put to bed. We need to poll the Membership, and respond to what their majority interests are. If they want it looked at, then the only way I know is to gather enough real data to answer almost any realistic question someone thinks up. That way most of the issues become real and well understood. There are several examples to look at, collect some hard data, and learn from.We can address each issue, figure out if/how they are manageable, and how doable. Then present the pro's and con's to the Membership for their response.
Obviously it can and has been done, however making it happen is the big if. As you say, a lot of work, planning, commitment, and resources ( facilities, dollars and people) plus the logistics, are involved to make it happen.

Lamar.
You have been around pattern to remember some of the logistical problems with running the Nats at different locations around the country. Are you suggesting that those problems are no longer present? How are those obstacles going to be addressed? The extra expense of moving the Nats year to year?
I haven't seen a Dec. K so don't know what all the talk is about. I also haven't voted yet. Awaiting your reply.

Hi Brian, ol ex-editor. Good to have you back hassling us on the List.
Let's see, Membership: I think I hit most things in my two previous sets of answers. Probably all the standard reasons, with some "Political" ones also. We have to eliminate those, and concentrate on making NSRCA provide good, legitimate reasons to join. We will have to work on both getting new blood, and wooing back those that have left, for reasons we can resolve. This needs some serious study, and objective evaluation to really find the realistic, and best path You know the K Factor used to be one of the largest reasons, and I think some things Tony has done will help, plus getting it back to better than it was when we used to wait at the mail box, and complain about it being a day late.
Finances: I have not been privy to much in that area. Probably Derik is the best source for what the history is. He indicated we had problems in 1998/1999, and whatever they were, were resolved. Also he indicated that we were operating at a yearly loss, and essentially living off our past Bank account. We have to get that fixed. According to Maureen's input, we are a non-profit organization, and if Florida laws are the same as Alabama laws, should not carry much over from year to year. I recognize that two of our major resource generators, K-Factor and Membership, have gone down, and I have addressed how I would work on both those areas.
