In Ron Van Putte's report regarding the Pattern Nats Planning meeting for  
next year, July 17 to 21, 2005,  he pointed out that the rain delay day  
normally allowed, is no longer available. AMA has decided to reduce the Nats  from 38 
days to 34 overall, so no more rain days allowed evidently. Probably  true 
for every event. Ron also pointed out that although the Pattern  Nats has 
suffered through severe weather at times, the rain delay day has  not been used in 
the 10 years the event has been flown in Muncie. 
 
Well, 2005 may be the year when the rain day will be needed. We'll just  have 
to do the best we can without it.
