Jason: On my Extreme Flight R/C Yak 54 (Hacker C50 12XL, TP 10S3P 6000), my
canopy/hatch is held on with two carbon fiber pins in the front which slide
into two holes in the front former, and a homemade "hatch latch" in the rear.
The hatch latch is made from 1/6" piano wire (the latch pin), a ball point
pen spring, 2" of carbon fiber arrowshaft, and a few short pieces of 1/4" birch
dowel.....very light and allows virtually immediate access to the LiPos and
receiver. No vibration so the holes for the carbon pins and the piano wire
latch hatch pin don't wear. Works great; however, in a high vibration
environment (e.g., glow or gas power), I would suspect the holes for the pins would
wear quickly, allowing the canopy to become loose.
