If the size your looking for is a "6004", 42mm X 20mm X 12mm, try www.afcbearings.com. This is where I've gotten bearings for my OS160's. They are the distributor for SMT Bearing, but will sell one's and two's. The bearings are cheap ($14.20) and so for in the OS's they've worked great.

Ive checked as many bearing suppliers as I could find, none were carrying a SS bearing to fit the Webra, 16004. Boca is supposed to come up w/ one in october, sealed. Checking my bearing catalogs none show the 16004 as available in SS or w/ seals, so Boca must have had some manufactured.

Hi Brian,
I did move to SoFla. After reading Nat P.'s note about using a sealed SS bearing, I'm thinking of just getting some and doing away with the probblem before it starts. I think Budd Engineering was carryng these bearings for a good pric.

Are you saying 25% castor balance alky?
Didnt Jim Woodward move from CA to FL, maybe he'll find out about the humidity vs bearing life?

Hi Del....this actually happened at San Mateo....near San Francisco. It
really depends on the climate. If it's dry, there isn't much of a
problem, if it is humid.........the bearings rust.
Of course the SS bearings really helps.
The engine was a YS 2 stroke....I found that to stop the rust you must
remove the water from the engine...the fuel brand does not matter.
On the Rossi's we used to use, WD-40 worked great but it stunk......I
actually ran the engine about 30 seconds while squirting in the intake
at high idle with that stuff...it ran on the propellant from the can and
the engine blew out the water.
No, WD-40 does not have abrasives in it and of course, to do this right,
start with a new bearing so the old rust does not come
off....hehehe....On today's 2 strokes 30 seconds at high idle on 25/75
castor alky will do the trick. Just co nnect a line directly to the carb
and bypass the pump...get a soft tank so you can squeeze for a little
fuel pressure.

I learned to fly R/C while in California & I don't recall the weather
being
that hard on engines Dave.?.

That's true...I've put in new bearings on Friday evening...fly on
Saturday..locked up with rust on Sunday morning.

Del,
My experience is that frequency of flying and/or weather will
not affect bearing life. I have maybe 600 flts on one of my 91FXs. It
has
set on the shelf for several different periods and still feels very
nice.
