Webra Problems

This morning, Gordon and I were at the field 'cussing and discussing the
Webras, while practicing for next week's Fun & Sun. Mine, like yours Keith,
runs fine.

We were going talking through the systems and Gordon mentioned that someone
thought that the stock Webra pumps could loose prime if they got a slug of
air.

Ah ha-- a difference. I use one of those bubbleless fuel tanks, MK I
believe. Got it out of Central Hobbies.

I also think his pump pressure is too high. His high speed needle is at 1
1/4 turns out, mine is at 1 3/4 to 2 turns. I had to reduce my pump pressure
when I first got it.

But Keith you are right. Several things gotta be right or it doesn't want to
behave. Must have a type F plug or equivelent. Must have the tuned pipe the
right length (at least if its a Greves). Must have the pump pressure right
(not too high). Right fuel. No crud in the pump.

Maybe some luck?

Dennis,

I'm not trying to convince Gordon not to change engines, I'm not associated
with any Hobby related industry and have no vested interest in Webra. If
changing engines will reduce his frustration and allow him to enjoy pattern
then that's probably what he should do. I'm just letting him, and others,
know that I've personally had success with the engines and I'm offering my
assistance if he'd like to get the Webra working and save some money.
