140L woes

Ed and Joe,
One other thing you may want to look at is your mount. I had a similar
problem with my Dz...drove me nuts, and always on on final ( that's where I
noticed it). It turned out that one of my three bolts holding the mount to
the firewall was loose. Once everything was tight, my idle was once again
consistent.
I've also seen this sort of thing happen once a mount gets too soft ( Hyde
style ..that is).
Anyway, good luck in finding the culprit.
Tom

Hey everyone.
Joe has an L that ran great last year. This year, it has been
overhauled(needed). The problem is the engine dies only on landing
approach. Not during a spin, stall turn, or idling on the ground. In fact,
prior to takeoff it will idle extremely well, for 5-6 minutes, only at the
end of the flight, with fuel, it dies about 5 ft high. It doesn't matter
how fast the idle is advanced either.
We have changed everything we can think of, including servo, linkage,
regulator, carb. checked for airleaks, adjusted low end, adjusted regulator,
Stranglely it runs extremely strong in the air. Any suggestions or has
anyone had this same problem.
Thanx in advance
ed and Joe
