Figured it out with the help of my math major co worker.
A 1 mil. thickness is .001of an inch. The Mil. is roman numeral for a 1000. I didn't know that. In an attempt to vindicate my stupidity I asked 5 others if they knew and none did so I feel better know, Thanks, Mike

Subject: How thick is a mil.?

Ok I took out the metric converter and I think I have the math right.
Could one of you smart dudes check this?
A micron is 1000th of a millimeter, correct?
A millimeter is about .039+", Correct?
25 microns is about .001, correct?
Then what's a mil.? And how thick is a mil?
I need to order 1 mil. vinyl and i'd like to know.
 TIA, Mike
