How thick is a mil.?

I think the mil you refer to is one milli-inch. That even sounds right: it's about the same as a very light duty plastic trash bag.

 A millimeter is about .039+", Correct?
 25 microns is about .001, correct?
 Then what's a mil.? And how thick is a mil?
 I need to order 1 mil. vinyl and i'd like to know.
