   Tarnation, what a great word that is not used often enough! I didn't know
we had Yosemite Sam flying pattern. Just imagine Y'Sam arguing about his
zero'd snap score after his flight. Naturally, Bugs Bunny is one of the
judges...
   On a more serious note, I was playing with my sport trainer the other
day, after having added more elevator throw to turn the sashays into snaps
by "initiating a break". See, I'm learning from y'all(another great word
from my native Texas). They still aren't quite snappy, but they did improve
quite a bit. Then I tried an avalanche, which I think is when you pull a
snap at the top of an inside loop, then finish the loop. Wow, the snap at
the top of the loop is much more violent than pulling a snap while flying a
straight line.
   Why, on my wimpy sport trainer, is the snap in the loop more violent than
a snap in a straight line? Is it because the elevator is already deflected
and the plane is flying at a higher alpha, so reaching the stall or yet
higher alpha doesn't take as long as trying to reach it from neutral
elevator?
   Along the same lines, where does the throttle go during a snap, to idle
then back again? Or leave it alone?
