Transportation

Hello,
    How do you transport your models for long trips, especially by airplanes? I'm using the box which the airplane came into but it's a heavy wood box with about 2,1m x 0,7 x 0,5 meters. Last time I had to travel with it it weighted more than 30Kg with only 1 pattern plane inside!
    And when you get on the competition place how do you transport it? Do you rent cars or just have some help of local friends?
