I've had the same problem repeatedly w/ Acrobat Reader 6.01 -- always when
opening web based pdf's - same 'damaged file' report. I'm about ready to
ditch 6.01 and go back to 5.x.

I've encountered the same thing - I think that previous downloads were with
Adobe 5.x, maybe the new Adobe 6.x is the culprit. Doesn't seem to matter if
Adobe is opened first or not - just gives a damaged file report.
