     Will the FCC  (Federal Candy Commission) give their blessing the this form of propagation? I realize the benefits that are claimed but do know from my ham radio pursuits that it hasn't been always well received by the FCC.

Dean and all:
I had a meeting with the AMA Frequency Committee while at the Toledo Show.  The issue of DSS operation was on the ajenda.  We (the committee) is in the process of writing a paper to be published to explain the operation of DSS and how it could impact R/C modeling in the USA and around the world.  

There is much more to it than what this website says.  Look for this info very soon.

Granted, it can't be any better, but how much worse can it get, even if only occasionally. That's worth knowing. I wrote them an E-mail asking. If they understand the TX encoding, then they can do the RX decoding, I would think.

It can't be any better than the basic encoder and it looks to me like they are using the Futaba encoder and just replacing the RF module.  I wonder how they do the decoder?  You'd need a Futaba chip to do that.  
A complete new system would be better because at 2.4 GHz they have plenty of bandwidth to increase the data rate and resolution.

Jim,
Do you know if the latency spec for SS is peak, or some average like RMS? These guys quote 14 mS.
This sounds fantastic, unless there is a real probability that when you stop a snap roll, the control surfaces may only get the information after 50 or more milliSeconds.
I'll just write them, I guess.

There is someone flying a spread spectrum system here in Southern California, but I'm not sure this is the same thing.  The local guy is supposedly using frequency hopping not DSSS.  In any case it looks good for modelers if it works as advertised.
