Firewall for Hyde Mount

1/4" nomex alone is not sufficient either. I tried this on my original
Smaragd

Use the AR (A) its the lightweight AR mount and stick the nose ring in the
fuse it so much lighter and easier to do......

The ARI works great in a Focus type model with no nose and only a
cowling....

The best and lightest setup is the AR (A) and a fuse mounted nose ring....

As ffor beefing up the CF nomex firewall with metal or ply strips...why are
you using a Nomex CF firewall...weight right? Well if weight is the issue
why add it in the form of the ARI mount and the beefy firewall to support
it.

Your defeating the purpose of using a $20 chunck of composite material for
the firewall....and then top that off with the fact you're going to spend an
extra $40-50 on a motor mount that in the end gives a setup that is heavier
than just doing it right to begin with

Don't get me wrong the ARI is a good mount...but require a stiff
firewall....Are you going to save an oz in the material you use just to add
another 1.5-2ozs back into it just to say you have a cool CF-Nomex
firewall...its not doing anything for you. The Ar style mounts work perfect
on the cf-nomex firewall....I use 1/8th" Aircraft grade firewalls in most of
my models and venture out into the CF-Nomex ones at times.....

My personal opinion, your milage may vary
