Heck half the guys at a pattern contest today are that old so to win that would be an honor. Mike

Masters is a lot more fun than Advanced and a heck of a lot easier!!!!! I can't do either with any degree of precision, but the security factor is much higher in Masters!
We need to have a "Master Senior Shootout" at the Nats next year for Master pilots who are 60+, with the winner to be designated "Best Master Old Geezer".

I am "only" 63, but with a lot of milage. I am rooting for the guys that are old timers and still at it. My skills are slipping in pattern competition but still well enough to fly Advanced, just not enough to fly Advanced well. I am not going away, just facing circumstances. The improvements I make in practicing Advanced now days are almost imperceptable. I think I will take a hard look at the Masters sequence. I need a change for my personal benefit. I have good glasses, good hearing aids, etc, and it seems every day I meet someone with real problems. So I am not complaining, just acknowledging! John Ferrell

So, John, How old are you? I'm 70 and no matter how much I practice my Advanced pattern gets slightly more erratic every year! But, I am still one of the best flyers at our field thanks to my Pattern practice; it Works... My eyesight is good, so I can be judging. I am the ONLY pattern flyer at our field (San Luis Obispo, CA, 90 members), 200 miles from any competition, and it gets old to drive by myself. So due to that and circumstances I have not competed in 2 years. This discussion group is my link to a sport I really enjoy and continue to learn from. Wade
