Sanction as a two day event. Having a shorter contest than you
sanctioned is not a problem.

The BDS pattern challenge for the foreseeable future will remain a 1 day
contest. However I'm looking at moving it's date from Monday, Labor Day
to
the Saturday before Labor day. That way if Saturday is rained out we can
have the option of making Sunday the rain date. Problem is the current
AMA
sanction procedures really doesn't cover this scenario. There wouldn't
be
time to contact the AMA district contest coordinator to approve the
change
of the sanction date to the following day, providing there isn't already
a
sanction for a pattern contest on that day. I'll be investigating this
to
see what options are available.

hours,
or more, and I just will not take the risk that a 1 day will be rained
out,
or otherwise cancelled or shortened. Since starting this activity in
1984, I
have only seen 1 contest that was a 2 dayer completely rained out, and
that
was one in Canada this year.

for
some great time sharing with other campers. You really get a chance to
know
your competition. This may be the BEST part of pattern competition.
