Don't know if Xavier's question got answered, but the Nats dates for pattern

LMAO...I always thought it would be an interesting experiment to watch Ed
Hoffman fly during an earthquake...and see if he would appear to be standing
still....

For what it's worth Larry, Ed's hands shook so much you'd swear you saw the
sticks vibrate to full deflection, but his plane was always on rails. I'm
guessing today's digital servos would have been a problem for him. He was
one of the few that benefitted from .26 sec transit times on the old Kraft
servos...

Ahhhhh, Larry the old Galloping Ghost / Ed Hoffman affect. I'm thinking
gorilla springs for your radio, lots of expo in your programming, and
Ketamin in your flight box.

I still get extremely nervous, but I find that it decreases proportionately
with the amount of practice I get. Keep practicing and once you get that
pattern down you will barely break a sweat. I watched Bob Kane put in a
burner of a round this year and hit every manuever, afterwards he said he
felt completely relaxed, not rushed, calm, and loose. You will get there
just keep plugging at it.

Talking about the 2004 NATS....

I'm considering attending the NATs my 1st year in Intermediate. My goal is
achievable, but still a challenge. It's to place in the top 25 of my
class....

However, I'm concerned about the safety factor of other pilots in my debut.
As Harry Slone and Verne Koester pointed out last year at every contest I
attended, I had problems with straight and level flight as the wings would
rapidly rock from side to side as well as rapid pitch change. The problem
with level flight also provided for great feedback from Tim Pizara while
calling for me. He is the only one that jumped back and said, "Larry, Your
Scaring Me!!!!", as I pulled through the top of the loop over the Judges
heads......What great memories for my 1st year in pattern...!!!!! Any
way....

Who is supplying the knee braces that are designed to keep them from
knocking and shaking?

After in-depth analysis, I have found the root cause to be my knees shaking
so hard that I can't hold the radio still. This caused a rapid movement of
the sticks as the oscillation of my knees reached my hands and thumbs
causing the radio to shake violently.

I feel I have a shot at being competitive and finishing in the top 25 if I
can stabilize the tremble...
