ThunderTiger 120-RP

I don't know if the engine is being discontinued but that may be why they
can be purchased in the UK for about $129USD plus shipping of $35. The
weight is 27oz. The engine seems to come close to the OS140 in performance
at 1/3rd the price but I'm concerned about the other factors - torque,
reliability, etc.

Isn't the engine discontinued? I could not find a new one, so I purchase a
used that required a few parts to rebuild.
Getting parts for the TT 120 RP was not a problem. Just ask your local
hobby shop that carries the Thunder Tiger engines or the place that you plan
to purchase the engine from.
It is cheap, but heavier than OS if I remember correctly. I had a used one
but sold the engine & pipe package to a guy in New Zealand. He has not run
the engine yet (busy working & designing his plane).
Once tuned correctly, it should be a good engine.

Ok,
Since it's so quiet tonight - I'll ask this one.
What can anyone tell me about the Thunder Tiger 120RP. It seems like it
would pull a 10lb plane fairly well. For those that don't know it's a 1.27ci
rear exhaust pumped engine.
Mac's website shows it turning a 16x14APC @ 8000. A couple of people in
Europe seem to be running them.
For me a pro is it's available for about $165.00 shipped and is happy on
low-nitro fuel. As for the con's - it seems to be an orphaned engine here in
the US, parts might be an issue, torque and linear throttle response are
unknowns as well as reliability.
Any light people can shed on this would be appreciated.
