Why did I ask?? RE: 2003 D2 BARKS and more

Thanks, all, for all the quick feedback!

The point's been well-made on this list that no D1 championship was affected
by the D2 champs results. I asked the question in the name of fairness
because the D1 championships rules state that only AMA-sanctioned contests
count -- I hadn't heard the sad tale about the BARKS sanction -- and as the
guy doing the D1 figuring, I want our final results to stand every level of
scrutiny.

A D1 pilot brought the BARKS contest's non-sanctioned status to our
attention, and indicated a desire to the D1 standings adjusted accordingly.
By the rules, his point was valid. So in the interest of getting it right, I
had to ask the question.

He had every reason to know when he asked the question that no D1 class
champion would be affected -- but once the issue was raised, it had to be
answered. So that's what's been done.

Thanks again for the responses - -my only regret is that I wasn't able to
get down there to fly in the event! Sounds like it was a great one!
