John as I said at the event. I told Dave Guerin that it was the best contest I had attended all year! The clubs hospitality and willingness to give back to the pilots is unrivaled at any of the contests I attended this or any other year.
Top this off with top notch awards and great Steak and food all weekend.
As for the things not getting take care of at the proper AMA desk, I could really care less. My point early was that the revolutionary crowd was talking of a contest season as in many contests without an AMA sanction. As I said before I disagree with the revolutionary attitude.
John, Dave, Lee, and Steve...and the others of the Club that I don't know their names. Please continue the great support you have given to the contest. I will be back to this one for sure!

AFIK:
The sanction was not received at the appropriate desk at AMA until the day before the contest. I believe it was returned unprocessed. I announced this at the pilots meeting that we were unsure of the sanction status but that we believed it to not be sanctioned. The consensus was at that time that it was not the fault of the organizers and that we would proceed. If it was a sanctioned contest in the records, the results are clear. If it was sanctioned as a matter of record, the treatment is up to the decision makers.
Protest procedures are an area of the rules that need to be "refreshed". As a frequent scorekeeper, I make the complete results at the end of a contest known to all and expect any challenges to be made within a few minutes. I try to keep the tear strips as orderly as possible and always make them available on request.
BTW, the trophy makers at AMA are on the ball. They made the trophies in plenty of time! I guess the paper work is harder than the trophies to handle.
This is probably an appropriate place to note that we failed to contain costs on this event by getting carried away with our spending. Piedmont Models declined to allow the club to take the hit. I can assure you I enjoyed my steak....

Hi -
I've been keeping the championship standings for D1 this season, and I've received a report that the BARKS contest, Oct 19. 2003 was not a properly sanctioned contest - and that the results are therefore not to be considered in determining an NSRCA District champion. .
I'd love to hear from a D2 (or AMA) official whether or not the BARKS contest was a legal, AMA-sanctioned contest - and therefore whether to count the results in our District standings.
On or off list will be fine.
Thanks in advance --
