Well I decided it was time to get back to turning big boxes of balsa into a model again. You remember the part were you cut, shave and sand away whatever does not look like the picture on the front of the box. To that end I am building a good old killer KAOS, Widebody40 and Widebody 60 this winter. (one good time about a divorce is more time to build and less people to complain about the building mess). I have been surprised just how good these kits are. Even though the bridi kit is a older style and not the newer self aligning tab stuff; it is going together quickly, very straight and very light. They seemed to have had better wood back then.

But the CA kits are a real surprize to me. They are not cheap; but is seems you get what you pay for. The wood is laser cut and fits perfectly. The foam core decks are CNC cut. The foam core wings/stabs/fins come already sheeted and the cut lines for control surfaces are already drawn for you. Landing gear is very light and bright. Now if they just included a real contruction guide instead of just pictures.

Looking forward to flying them.
