Hi Eric,
Dean here ... The 140 finds K&B 1-L plugs too hot, the "F"s have got to be even moreso!
I found the same issue with needing a few minutes of running to loosen-up adequately in order to be able to run at W.O.T.
It helps to fatten the mid-range with the idle mixture screw.
You will find it has a tremendous amount of authority over the mid-range mixture, and can easily over-lean the engine there.
