Engine dies after downline

Jim, 

Thanks for reply.  How far off of peak rpm should I richen this engine?
Some say that a pipe that's too short will cause lean runs - maybe if I
lengthen the pipe 1/4 inch or so?  What do you think?

Please forgive if this is a duplicate - the date on my computer defaults to
1904 when the power goes off and some emails get lost.
