Carbon rods?

I use the CST .070 rods for 1.40 size pattern bird elevators.
My set up is to join two .070 rods near the elevator servo,
and run one rod to each elevator. The CST outer case is
not very stiff (though very light) so I use a brace every
6 inches or so.

  Subject: Carbon rods?

Hello, I am in the process of building an airplane (Beat-On) and was thinking about using cf rods similar to the nyrod method. CST sells them in 050. I saw them used in a couple pattern planes a few years ago. Is anybody still using them? Are they strong enough for elevator and rudder? Any good tips or tricks?

  Thanks,
