Wing tube weights?

I replaced an aluminum wing tube with carbon from PAC.
Its a great fit. Tony Stillman told me at the Districts last year that if you get a loose fit when changing to carbon just apply some thin CA to the tube for buildup to make a nice fit

While we're talking about tube weights, does anyone have a comparison of wing tube weights carbon fiber vs. aluminum? Also, what's the probability of a good/loose fit with existing cardboard socket. Temptation comes with sockets pre-glued in wing panels. Thanks,

GW, those weights were the tube only. The socket by itself weighs .3 ounces or 9 grams. Considering how far back you are saving the weight, it will make a differance if you need to add nose weight to balance you plane, due to fact you will need a lot less nose weight than you would have with the heavier stab tube.

      many thanks Mike.

near 1/2 oz savings out of the tail . That might just make the difference I am looking for.

Is that just the tube, or including the socket?

            7/16x12 Carbon .4 ounces or 12 grams.

            7/16x12 Aluminum .8 ounces or 24 grams

Anyone know the weight savings(or percentage of weight) a carbon stab tube will have over the aluminum stab tube of standard length (12" i think)?
