Dean recommended Mobil 1 to me years ago when I started with 4 - cycles and it has served me well.

  Hi Ihncheol,
Mobil 1 is completely safe in a YS.
You can conduct the important test for yourself, with any after-run.
Simply take a used diaphragm, and immerse it in the after-run of choice for a day.
If it has not visibly swelled then your lube is O.K.

Ok, here is a thing that we talked about while ago.
I am getting ready to fire up the engines since the weather is getting
better with lots of sun although temp is still pretty low.

So far, there have been several type of oils used as after run-oil for all
  of

I have been using Mobile 1 synthetic since last year, so far no problem.
All my engines (including 4-YS, 6-OS of pumped and non-pumped 2-stroke and
4-stroke) that I have are now flooded (full inside) with the oil to prevent
  rust.

  What else do people use?

There is a current thread at RCU YS support forum talking about after
  run-oil.
Below is a direct quote from RCU post by Dave Shadel.

"Better to run nothing than the wrong after run oil. Almost any petroleum
based high solvent content oil is wrong for a YS. Don't use WD40, Marvel,
transmission fluid, 3 in 1, or a host of others. We sell a compatible oil
  known as Ultra Oil."

"My guess is that the solvent content of Mobil 1 is too high. I've never
  tried it."

  What do you think?
Also, what actually goes wrong if we use wrong type of after run oil?

  Thanks,

  Ihncheol Park
