Hi Tom,
I have one of these engines that I purchased from Tom
Collins/Buyrc.com at our contest last month:
http://www.buddengineering.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=BuddE&Category_Code=2LWPC
I installed it in my E=MC3 to evaluate it's performance and how it
handled. I installed two new YS plugs, and used an APC 17x12 prop
with Magnum#1 fuel, and a ES-2C140L90 pipe with an uncut 2.25" rise
Mac's header (my standard setup). It turned 7930 rpm on the ground
which is pretty good for a new, zero time motor. After a bit of
fiddling with the idle mixture setting it settled into a reasonable
idle speed of around 2000 rpm. I'm sure these numbers will both
improve as the motor gets some more time on it (it was only flown
three flights, one by Tony Frackowiak who commented that the throttle
response/linearity was very good). I think it would be an excellent
motor, especially for a moderate size, 10 lb range aircraft such as a
Focus or a Temptation
I've decided to sell the motor even though it's really nice and
extremely well made (the pictures don't even come close to doing it
justice!) as I already have 2-Webra 145's and 2-OS140RX's and I don't
need a 5th motor to support. It is in picture perfect near-new
condition and comes with the standard header that was included at
initial purchase.
Anyway, I am selling the motor for $385 + shipping. I can ship
immediately if payment is via credit card (I can accept M/C, Visa,
Amex, & Disc) or via PayPal. If payment is by check I won't be able
to ship until after March 27th (I'm going TDY to Wallops Island, VA
on Monday and won't return until then).
If interested, please respond directly via eMail, off-list.
Thx, Jerry
