Steve:
I have the elevator servos install on the root end of the stabs, per the pictures on the PL website. I am using the Futaba S9550 digitals on them. I built the boxes and then installed them in the stabs.

Subject: Servo boxes
I'm building a Smaragdz and noticed that they show servo boxes, and it appears that everyone makes these, but on the stab is it really needed the servo is inside the tube area does the tube boxes add strength to the wing or stab, I done a test piece and just cut the foam tight to the servo and inlayed a piece of 3/32 aircraft ply to screw the servo to and it seems plenty strong.
Thanks
Steve Maxwell
