It may seem that way but it's been defined to be judged at the major contests as the either upright or inverted portion of the maneuver.  Judged that way at the NATS, Team Selection and World contest.

  Seriously -- centering on the inverted 4 of 8 point roll...logic would tell me that it is the center of the knife edge portion, however brief it may be...but is that the real interpretation?
