NEW concept? for pattern entry.

Actually I would much prefer to see the 401 class remain as turnaround with the 'out of the box' existing turnaround left in place. I would also like to see a few maneuvers added to the 401 class. It is somewhat short and 401 flyers that I have spoken with would like to have a few more maneuvers in the flight. Some CD's opt for double rounds per flight to help this problem.
I still view the beginning pattern class as a class for beginning pattern flyers not so much for beginning RC flyers.

Subject: NEW concept? for pattern entry.
One idea that I have thought about proposing is to change the 401 class back to non turnaround. Too many pilots get dangerously out of kilter trying to handle the flight direction challenges after a center maneuver when they are under the stress load of being judged. Their next step up would be 402 turnaround but by then they would be more pattern proficient.
We would change the schedule to do more than straight line in the center but not by much else.
Any strong feelings or views on this train of thought?
Regards,
Eric.
