Eric,
 Where do you have the CG located relative to the recommended placement?
The visual elements of the force arrangement indicate a push to the
belly on KE and if you have no mix in it then you must have trimmed it
for a nose heavy condition to overcome this which probably explains the
snapping on low throws.
Curious.
