Thanks Bob,
The rod wasn't sliding on the piston pin because of deposit. Everything is dismantled now. I will reassemble it this afternoon and it should fly tomorrow.

I just had to do this last week...here's what worked for me. First, I removed the sleeve. This gave me the clearance to slide the conrod toward the rear on the crankpin. While slowly turning the crank, I found the spot where the clearance was right to let it slide off. It came off easily then.
Reinstalling was a bit of a challenge, because you have to get the conrod on the crankpin, and start the sleeve OVER the piston from the top. Be careful about the pin index in the piston ring groove...there is one, it is very small, and must have the ring positioned properly to let the sleeve compress it.

    Hello guys,

I am having trouble removing the piston and connecting rod of my 160FX. Do they come off together ? The sleeve is removed. I tried pulling on the rod with crank at TDC but could only get it halfway out. I didn't want to force it out before asking.

    Thanks

    Xavier
