Pros and Cons regarding dual battery use.
I am presently installing two parallel power systems in an airplane that is
using six Futaba Digital servos, four S9252's and two S9151 as well as one
S9202 on throttle.
Because of the load requirements I have installed two 1700mah NiCad 4 cell
packs complete with separate HD switches and wiring both plugged into the
R149DP receiver.
Local club members say they are running this way with no problems. The system
also includes an installed i4C on board volt meter to monitor system voltage.
each battery can be checked separately by turning on one at a time and
reading the voltage under load, voltage can also be checked with both systems
on. Futaba states that these servo's are to be operated on 4.8 volts only and
since I have never had a problem with four cell pack's that is what I have
decided to use.
Any comments or experience utilizing this type of hook up will be appreciated.
