I use the Dubro 60 size tailwheel assembly. It gets bent when the helper pushes down on the tail to hold the plane. I just rebend it periodically. Its never broken

  Hey all,

I have been making my tailwheels using steel wire that you can buy at the hobby store (4-40 sized). I have tried bending a coil into the wire to prevent it from bending after landings, but eventually, they still bend. Is there anything that can be done to the wire to help (like putting it in the oven) or is there a better kind of wire to buy that will hold up for that purpose?

  Thanks, Emory Schroeter.
