Bob, I've been looking stainless bearings for the RX forever but could not find them. Do you have a phone # or website link for your source? Thanks, Michael.

    Hi all,

Does anyone know of a source of bearings with nylon retainers? I
need to replace the rear bearing in my OS-140RX and it was suggested
to me by a leading engine authority that a bearing with nylon
retainers (not phenolic) might help. To date I've been using the
inexpensive Boca Bearings with mixed results; the last bearing
failure took out the piston/sleeve. I have not used any other
bearings but I am open to suggestions!

    TIA, Jerry

  Hi Jerry

The answer is stainless bearing, I get them from Geraldi Bearing, but I assume King Bearing or other bearing houses will have/can get them. Cost is a little more, $28 last time I got one. To date I/we have not had one fail, some have 250-300 flights. Jerry Jay has one that has out lasted the ring, put a ring in it last night and he left the bearing in. I don't know if you remember, but this was also the answer with the OS .61 Hanno vs the .61 RF, I never did have a bearing fail in a Hanno .61, bearings in the .61 RF were similar to the RX 140 (100-125 flights). You may have to push the bearing people a little to get a stainless, but trust me, they are available. I have had poor luck with Boca bearings in general, by the way.
