Winter / Focus / Fuel

As a sidebar to the noise issue I saw a very, at least to me, bit of behavior at the Hobby Vision airshow in Vegas. As stated the electric's are not that quiet. They are however much quieter than a DA what ever.

What I saw was that when the gas engines flew people stopped talking, (As much), and watched the source of the noise. When Jason flew both of his electric's, (extremely well I might add), there was a whistling-wheezy noise that did not get much attention. People kept loudly jawing away and it took them three or four minutes to realize that there was some amazing flying going on.

End of observation.

Joke - "Maybe we should fit some speakers in the wing panels and play "Rolls-Royce-Merlin-Music" while we fly????

Doug:

Don't expect super quiet operation. Jason's model checked 88-92 db
throughout the event at Poland. That's quiet, but not silent. The prop
makes a good bit of the noise, as well as the gear train. In the air, it is
very quiet!
