Bob,
Everything Mike said plus they hold a charge MUCH longer than NiCad & MiMh. I have the same pack as Mike and love it.

Bob I went to the 2000 mil Lith pack from Super batteries.com this year. I like the idea of feeling confident that I can go 8 flights or so on a charge. Also the pack is really compact and easier to fit in little spaces. Mine has a 5.3V regulator that I find perfect for pattern.I have found that 6V is too much. The charging thing is no problem because why would you need to field charge in normal conditions? I think in the very near future we'll all be using Li-Po's but for now I love my Lith Ions. Plus the weight savings is fairly significant. Mike

I'm finding most 2 cell, 1600+ mah Lithiums to be weighing around 2.5 oz or so....plus a regulator (required), another .6, total of 3.1 oz. And NO fast field charging. And special charger.

NiMh 5 cell pack, 1800mah, same reg reqd., about 5.8....

Besides saving the 2.7 ounces (in my application), what are the REAL *other* advantages of going Lithium ?
