Fuel Weights?

They may mix by weight but the weight that most use is based on the amount 
that will result in a volume blend. Following are some numbers that may be 
useful to those interested.
Methanol weight = 6.63 LB per gallon  x 16 oz per pound = 106,080 ounces 
(weight ). per gallon deviled by 128 ounces (volume per gallon)  =. 829 oz 
(weight) per liquid oz. (volume)

Nitro weight = 9.43 lb. per gallon x 16 oz. per pound = 150,880 ounces 
(weight) per gallon deviled by 128 ounces (volume per gallon) = 1,179 oz (weight) 
per liquid oz (volume)

Oil The one item that no one seems to be able to obtain since different 
Mfg.'s use different synthetic oil's in their mix. After running lab test's on them 
the weight varies from . 875 oz (weight) per liquid oz (volume)    to 
1.011oz. (weight) per liquid oz (volume) a range of from about 7.00 LB gallon to 8.00 
lb. gallon. on those that I had tested

Therefore Volume amounts required for 15% Nitro- 20% Oil (at 1,011 oz. per 
oz.) and the balance 65% methanol will be.
Nitro 128 x . 15 = 19.20 oz. (volume) x 1,179 =22.637 oz (weight)
Methanol 128 x . 65 = 82.20 oz (volume) x . 829 = 68,973 oz (weight)
Oil @  1,011 oz. per oz  is 128 x . 20 = 25.60 oz (volume) x 1,011 = 25,882 
oz. (weight)

Total weight of fuel = 22,637 + 68.973+ 25,882 =117.492 oz (weight) / 16 oz. 
per LB = 7,343 LB or 7 lb. 5,488 oz add a jug which will be +/- 5oz = around 7 
LB 10 oz.
Blended Weight of 15% as above = . 918 oz (weight) per liquid ounce (volume)
The difference in total gallon weight can change +/- 5 oz per gallon based on 
the weight of the oil being used.
 Using the same base weight's 30% Nitro will have a Blended Weight of . 970 
oz per  liquid oz or x 128 = lb. 12 oz.
plus the jug weight of 5 oz = 8 LB 1oz 
All of the above is subject to any math errors that I sometimes have been 
guilty of making.
