Looking though the results I am always impressed by Wolfgang and Roland Matt. How many father and son teams do you see doing that well together. Maybe in NASCAR once in a while.

For your personal consumption here are a few little vinaigrettes that came my way in e-mails from folks at the contest - Just to give you all a little "taste"

- They had raised platforms for the starting boxes that were 3' x 6' and 6" high. An unfortunate Fin' pilot had his plane running and had incurred big horse shoe shape cut above his knee on practice day. He went back out to fly and opened some stitches so they put him back in the hospital. - dedication?

- Looked like Jason out flew Sean yesterday and had a lower score, and Sean out flew Jason the next day and had a lower score . That's the way contests go!

- Jason had his electric plane turned up to fly in the wind today - Flew extremely well in the conditions. - Noise conscious Europeans very interested in his set-up. He drew big crowds.

- The wind is absolutely brutal from 11 untill about 5 PM .

- Snap scotring is "very-intesting ". Christophe had 2 zeros on 1 1/2 snap - 4/8 opposite, but scored the round????

- Bob Skinner (FAI) held an unusual interim judging class about snaps, Lots of zeros from judges in round 3

- Bob Noll paid his own way to Poland to be there as "Judge-in- training" for the USA in 2005 .

- 2 Brits crashed on Sat. at official practice. A Smaragd and a Shadow. The Shadow wing opened up on leading edge. Smaragd had radio problems.

 - The sound test was a big bone of contention. There were 7 in a row who failed on one line.
- The sound tests for the 3 rd day were released today this time nobody was over 94 - Sound issues has settled down. They have a tape circle for sound check and have discarded the 3 meter stick!

 - They are rotating the flight order by 30

 - When Christophe, Sean and Jason flew on the same judge panel , Jason' s plane was awesome . Looked like he had the best flight.

I- The US team got their fuel on time. Quite a few teams did not get theirs..

 - The sound readindgs from first day were supposed to be base line and not count. It looks like they are to be re-calibrated and done again tomrrow.

- I heard that that the organizers have had several hot meetings and some people are getting upset - Nothing new at a World's!

 - The wind in the middle of the afternoon was like Florida in the prlems. It dies down in the late afternoon . Many pilots did not do well in the wind.

That's all folks!

Eric.
