Speaking of Joan, does anybody know how Rick is doing?

Joan Anastasio flew this year in 2 contests, and was the CD at the Dist 8 Opener. After a couple of year's off, she dropped back to Advanced.

Rick Allison's wife, Joan Astasio, competed through the ranks and last flew in the Masters class. I don't know if she is flying any longer, but it was fun to have her competing with us.

Subject: Women in pattern
I've been flying in pattern for the better part of 40 years give or take a few years off here and there to raise a family. In that time I can't remember any women who flew in pattern. My ? is are there or have there ever been any? Or at the Worlds has a women ever represented a country? Off the wall I know but it interests me enough to ask the ?. I think a women could be good at pattern. Thanks, Mike
