Women in pattern

This is no lie. The only women I ever seen flying turned out to be a former guy who took a few years off to have an operation. It took a while for the flyers to figure out how she learned to fly. I don't know if this counts. M2

Joan Anastasio flew this year in 2 contests, and was the CD at the Dist 8 Opener. After a couple of year's off, she dropped back to Advanced.

Rick Allison’s wife, Joan Astasio, competed through the ranks and last flew in the Masters class. I don’t know if she is flying any longer, but it was fun to have her competing with us.

I've been flying in pattern for the better part of 40 years give or take a few years off here and there to raise a family. In that time I can't remember any women who flew in pattern. My ? is are there or have there ever been any? Or at the Worlds has a women ever represented a country? Off the wall I know but it interests me enough to ask the ?. I think a women could be good at pattern. Thanks, Mike
