3M Engines

By doing so you are increasing the the mass around the center of the mount.
Sure it will work but you are adding addition leverage by moving the engine off center. Increasing vibration or the force behind it.  Thinkof it as a lever principle.  The further out the lever(engine cylinder and prop) is the easier it is to move the load(mount).  Just my observation.  Any time you can keep the weight of the mass closer to the center of rotation the better you are.  You are also off setting the leverage point thus putting an uneven pressure on the mount disks. 

Boy finally got to use some of the geometry I studied 3O yrs ago.
