Best battery choice? + Current Draw used per flight

When you get a change like this I would suspect a pot or two needs replacing. Bad pots on digital servos have given me an Amp draw before now. 

The engine shakes everything indiscriminately and, as such, does not tell you which servo is bad. An easy test is to turn on the system, TX and all. Then apply a vibration source to each control horn. I used a palm sander with no sandpaper. Just touch the horns and watch the draw. (It's usually the right aileron servo).

Brian, you didn't say what type engine/mount that you are using.....???

The source of your high current draw with the engine running could be
directed at the mount. When more vibration is transferred to the airframe
through inadequate isolation/damping the current draw can really increase
dramatically.
